Man carries sister's dead body for 5 km, video from Lakhimpur surfaces

A heart-wrenching video has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur, where a girl has lost her life due to lack of proper treatment and couldn't even get an ambulance to return home. According to the social media post, her brothers had to carry her home on their shoulders for 5 kilometres. 

In the video, the family from the flood-affected area can be seen carrying their sister on the shoulders, which describes the helplessness due to lack of treatment, which is worrying. The elder brother said his sister had been sick for the last few days. The doctors prescribed the tests but her health started to deteriorate and she died. He claimed that due to lack of connectivity, they could not consult the better health centre, else they could have saved her.

Meanwhile, it is important to note that the area has been triggered by heavy rains, and flooding wreaks havoc on different orders in UP villages. Recently, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took stock of the situation in the flood-affected areas and directed the administration to ensure every assistance to affected people and asked the officials to speed up the work.

Notably, 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh are affected by the floods. Local divers have been deployed along with the flood unit.
