New Delhi: A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur where a 70-year-old maulana tries to assault a 7-year-old girl sexually. When the girl started shouting, neighbours rushed to the scene and rescued her from the house of the Maulana. The Maulana who was found in a semi-nude state, managed to escape from the spot. The accused identified as Maulana Mukhtar resides near Gwaltoli police station.
Following the incident, Police teams rushed to the scene. The police took the girl for a medical check-up and filed a report against the Maulana based on the family's complaint. They have also formed special teams to catch the accused.
A woman from the Gwaltoli police station area said that on Friday evening, her 7-year-old daughter was playing outside their home. Maulana Mukhtar, who lives nearby, lured the girl with chocolates and took her to his house. He then tried to harm the girl. When the girl screamed, neighbors rushed to the Maulana's house.

A crowd gathered outside Maulana Mukhtar's house when he refused to open the door. Upon breaking in, they found him engaging in inappropriate behavior with the girl. The mob beat him up, but his family helped him escape before the police arrived.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) stated that the 70-year-old Maulana from Gwaltoli lured the girl with chocolates and attempted to harm her. The girl is safe, and a case has been registered based on her family's complaint. Multiple teams are working to arrest the accused.
