AIMPLB protests at Jantar Mantar : The All India Personal Law Board has intensified its campaign against the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024. It started a protest against this bill at Jantar Mantar on Monday. In view of this demonstration of the board, heavy security arrangements have been made at Jantar Mantar. At the same time, Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) constituted on the Waqf Amendment Bill and BJP MP Jagdambika Pal said that this demonstration of AIMPLB can create differences among the people and challenge the parliamentary system.

AIMPLB's move is not democratic: Jagadambika Pal
Pal said that AIMPLB has already presented its objections and concerns to the committee and its concerns have been included in the report. In such a situation, it is not understood why it is protesting at Jantar Mantar? Accusing the board, the BJP MP said that if they are protesting against it, then they are trying to create hatred among the people and challenge the right of Parliament to make laws. They want to create differences and confusion among the people. The step taken by AIMPLB is not democratic.

This demonstration was to be held on March 13
This demonstration of AIMPLB was earlier scheduled to be held on 13 March but due to the likely holiday of Parliament on that day, many MPs expressed their inability to attend, after which it changed the program. Representatives of the board had met TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and JD (U) president Nitish Kumar in January and February and sought their support, but both these parties are currently seen to be with the government on this issue.
