Heatwave conditions to prevail in Northwest India till tomorrow; Delhi may get rainfall

According to IMD, Delhi is likely to get light rain by Friday which will give relief to people from severe heat.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has anticipated that Delhi may get respite from severe heatwave as the city is likely to witness light rains by Friday. According to the morning bulletin released by IMD on June 5, rainfall and thunderstorms are likely at a few places over Northwest India till June 7. Heat wave conditions likely to continue in isolated pockets over parts of east India, Uttar Pradesh and north Madhya Pradesh during next 5 days. 

Rainfall activity is likely to increase over Konkan-Karnataka coasts with heavy to very heavy rainfall from June 8, according to IMD. 

In isolated locations across Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, West Madhya Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka, and Madhya Maharashtra, heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is on forecast.

Light to heavy rainfall in patches, possibly accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusts (30–40 kmph) over Marathwada during the next five days; Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, on June 5 and 6.
