Heartbreak in Abbasiya: Indian couple, children killed in Kuwait city blaze

Four members of an Indian family perished in a late-night fire that broke out in their Kuwait City apartment, according to local authorities. An Indian couple and their two kids were among the dead; they had returned from a holiday in Kerala that very day.  The fire killed Mathews Mulackal, his wife, Lini Abraham, and their two children. They were all from Neerattupuram in Kerala's Alappuzha. This was reported by the Arab Times newspaper.

Their second-floor apartment in the Abbasiya neighborhood caught fire at around 8 p.m., with the reason reportedly being a short circuit in the air conditioner.As per the newspaper story, Mathews Mulackal was employed at Reuters, the news agency, while his spouse Lini worked as a staff nurse at Adan Hospital, which is located in Al Ahmadi Governorate. The couple's kids once attended Kuwait is Bhavans School.

In the meantime, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait has sent its sincere condolences to the families of those who have passed away in the Arab country. The Embassy stated that it will make sure the four Indians' mortal remains are returned to their families as soon as possible and that it is in communication with the families in Kerala. Days have passed since the tragic fire tragedy that killed forty-five Indian laborers in a Kuwaiti labor camp last month. In Kuwait, a building housing foreign laborers caught fire.

Indians divided? 

The 45 Indians were divided into 23 Keralans, 7 Tamil Naduese, 2 Andhra Pradesh and 2 Odishaes, and 1 each from Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh. Officials stated that a large number of residents were evacuated and that the majority of deaths were caused by smoke inhalation while inhabitants were asleep.
