UP News: A chilling case of rape has surfaced from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where a 26-year-old married woman has accused her neighbor of exploiting her under the pretext of marriage. The incident, which took place on November 1, unfolded in a secluded madrasa in the Mahewaghat police station area. The victim alleges that the neighbor had been cultivating a friendly relationship with her for a month, during which he promised to marry her. However, when the woman visited him at his maternal grandfathers madrasa in the village, he sexually assaulted her.When the woman pressured him to keep his promise and marry her, the accused not only refused but also threatened her with death if she reported the crime. Mahewaghat Police Inspector Chandrabhushan Maurya confirmed that a case of rape has been registered following the womans complaint. Authorities are currently investigating the matter.Neighbors Brutal Assault on Young Girl in Sandipan Ghat AreaIn a separate incident in Prayagraj, a 21-year-old woman was assaulted and raped by a neighboring youth in the Sandipan Ghat area. The attack took place while her father was away for work, leaving her alone at home. On November 12, the accused entered the house under some pretense and raped the victim. When she tried to resist, he physically assaulted her, threatening her life if she spoke out about the incident.The victim managed to contact her father, who was horrified upon hearing about the assault. The case was promptly reported to the police, and a formal investigation is underway. Sandipan Ghat Inspector Brijesh Karvariya confirmed that a rape case has been filed and efforts to apprehend the accused are ongoing.
