New Delhi: A horrifying incident has left the Moradabad police in shock after a UP Police constable, identified as Vikas, has been accused of committing extreme brutality against his wife. The constable, who resides in the Thana Pakbara area, allegedly confined his wife to their home, tied her up with a rope, and subjected her to a night of relentless torture. The incident took a gruesome turn when Vikas reportedly burned his wife's body with a heated iron object, leaving her in a critical condition.

Dowry harassment escalates to unthinkable brutality

Vikas married a woman from the Kundarki police station area in 2021. According to the victim, the harassment for dowry began shortly after their marriage. The abuse, initially verbal and psychological, escalated into physical torture involving Vikas and his parents. The victim has alleged that on one fateful night, her husband locked her in a room and tortured her throughout the night.

The accusations are horrifying: Vikas allegedly used pliers to pull out her toenails, burned her chest with a hot screwdriver, and subjected her to further unimaginable torment by inserting a heated iron object into her private parts. Her condition remains critical as she receives treatment at a hospital.

What has victim said after the horrific crime?

The victim described her husband as a "monster" and recounted the unbearable pain she endured. "There is no part of my body that has not been burned," she said, adding that she was subjected to electric shocks and was locked in a room for two days during the ordeal.

Police on hunt for absconding accused

After managing to escape from her husband's clutches, the victim recounted the ordeal to her family, who immediately approached the police. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the police registered a case against Vikas and his parents under several serious charges. While the constable's parents have been apprehended, Vikas remains on the run, and the police are conducting raids to locate him. Vikas, a constable of the 2019 batch, is currently posted in Unnao but had returned to Moradabad on leave. His father, Satyaprakash, is also in the police force, serving in the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC).

The victim’s husband, however, managed to escape and is currently evading arrest. Moradabad SP City Ranvijay Singh confirmed the case, stating, "The victim has sustained severe injuries, and we have arrested two individuals in connection with the case. The search for the accused constable is ongoing, and he will be brought to justice."
