New Delhi: Congress leader Kumari Selja has strongly spoken out against the BJP government in Haryana. She says that the state's infrastructure has gotten much worse over the past 10 years, instead of getting better. Selja blames the BJP for this decline and says they have failed to deliver on their promises.

In a recent statement, Selja condemned the BJP-led administration for failing to address a range of pressing issues in Haryana. "Every district and city in the state is grappling with problems like traffic jams, waterlogging, sewer blockages, drinking water shortages, and inadequate street lighting," Selja said. She described the severe traffic congestion in major cities as halting daily life, while waterlogging makes conditions appear dire.

Infrastructure breakdown and governance failures

Selja pointed out that Haryana's roads are in poor condition, causing disruptions in transportation, and that the law and order situation has deteriorated significantly. She accused the BJP of being more adept at making false promises than implementing real solutions. "If the BJP calls this development, then the people of Haryana do not want such development," Selja asserted. She further criticized the BJP for mismanaging the state's resources and failing to deliver on their promises.

Critique of BJP's approach and promises

Selja highlighted that since coming to power, the BJP has focused on dividing people along religious and caste lines rather than fostering real development. She criticized the BJP for rebranding existing Congress schemes rather than creating new ones, which she claimed misleads the public. "If the BJP government had done something substantial, our farmers would not be protesting on the streets and employees would not be forced to stage demonstrations," she said. According to Selja, ongoing protests across the state reflect the government's lack of effective action.

Challenges in major cities and small towns

The former minister outlined specific issues in various cities. In the NCR regions, including Faridabad, traffic conditions are reportedly dire, with ambulances struggling to navigate congested streets. Faridabad, despite its "smart city" status, faces severe traffic jams and waterlogging problems. Similarly, the city of Kaithal, known for its religious significance, also suffers from significant traffic and waterlogging issues.

Selja criticized the current administration's failure to address these problems effectively. She cited several areas in cities like Sirsa, where pothole-ridden roads turn into virtual lakes during rains. "In every city, people are struggling to find any sign of development," she said.

Haryana's cities in chaos

Gurugram is in a mess. Traffic jams and waterlogging are constant problems. Main intersections like Badkal Chowk and Old Faridabad Chowk are always congested. Waterlogging is a permanent issue in Gurugram, especially during rains. The government has neglected the people.

Similar problems exist in other cities like Rewari, Sonipat, Karnal, Ambala, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Yamunanagar, Panipat and Panchkula. People are frustrated with traffic jams, waterlogging, sewer overflows, water scarcity, and streetlight issues. Sirsa city is even worse, with broken roads and potholes. It becomes a lake after a slight rain. People are fed up with the lack of development and bad roads.

Selja said that now people will not fall for the BJP government's tricks. In this assembly election, people will hold the BJP accountable for the last 10 years and vote them out. They will choose Congress because they know Congress can solve their problems.
