In a significant operation, three gangsters were shot dead near Channauli road in Sonepat’s Kharkhauda on Friday. The deceased included two shooters allegedly involved in last month’s murder at a Burger King outlet in Delhi. This special joint operation was conducted by the Delhi Police and the Haryana Police’s special task force.

The gangsters, identified as Vicky of Ridhana village in Sonepat, Ashish alias Lalu, and Sunny Gujjar from Hisar district, had been involved in multiple criminal activities. They were linked to a firing incident at a Mahindra showroom in Hisar last month and an attack at the Matura Ram eatery in January. Each had a bounty of ₹2 lakh on their heads. During the operation, the joint force recovered five pistols from the encounter site.

Details of the Encounter

Sonepat STF in-charge Yogender Dahiya provided details of the encounter. “We received a tip-off about the presence of three gangsters associated with the Himanshu Bahu gang. They were involved in several high-profile crimes, including the firing outside Matu Ram eatery in Gohana, the Mahindra showroom incident in Hisar, and a murder in Sonepat’s Murthal,” said Dahiya.

“We learned that the gangsters were heading towards Channauli road. We spotted a white car and signalled it to stop, but the occupants began firing at us. In the exchange of fire, the trio sustained injuries. We rushed them to the civil hospital in Kharkhauda, where doctors declared them dead,” he added.

Ransom Demands and Protest

Last month, these gangsters demanded a ransom of ₹2 crore each from two businessmen in Hisar. The traders protested twice, demanding the arrest of the assailants. On June 24, three masked men fired shots outside the Mahindra showroom in Hisar and demanded ₹5 crore from its owner, Ram Bhagat Gupta, who is also the national vice-president of the INLD.

Burger King Shooting Connection

Police sources confirmed that two of the deceased were involved in the Delhi Burger King shooting, where a woman, Anu alias 'lady don,' allegedly honey-trapped a 26-year-old man, Aman Joon, leading to his murder. Anu was part of the scheme to lure Joon to the Burger King outlet.

These gangsters were sharp shooters of the Himanshu Bahu gang, which is linked to the notorious Neeraj Bawana gang. They were running an extortion racket in Haryana, targeting businessmen, traders, industrialists, and builders.
