Haryana: Kanwariyas throws stones at school bus, accusers identified as Bajrang Dal members

The incident took place in Fatehabad's Ratia area. Station in-charge of Ratia, Ranjeet Singh stated that a case has been registered against two accused. The accused were identified as Vicky and Sanju and around 40 unknown persons were Kanwariyas.

New Delhi: A shocking incident has come to light from Haryana's Fatehabad where a group of angry Kanwariyas threw stones at a school bus after a dispute on Tuesday. According to sources, several school children were inside the bus at the time of the incident. Students were in a potentially dangerous situation however, no one was injured. 

Following the incident, bus drivers blocked a key road in the town, demanding action against the Kanwariyas.

Case registered against Kanwariyas

The incident took place in Fatehabad's Ratia area. Station in-charge of Ratia, Ranjeet Singh stated that a case has been registered against two accused. The accused were identified as Vicky and Sanju and around 40 unknown persons were Kanwariyas. Both accused Vicky and Sanju are associated with Bajrang Dal.

Bajrang Dal leaders involved in bus attack

A source disclosed that Vicky is a convenor of Bajrang Dal, in charge of four districts and is currently the Dharma Prasar Zila Pramukh of Vishva Hindu Parishad. Sanju is the city convenor of Bajrang Dal. However, both the accused kept saying that they were innocent. Locals have claimed that the blow-up happened after a bus belonging to Akal Academy hit a Kanwar.

Another local said, "The Kanwariyas were going towards Kalanwali after a long journey from Haridwar. Near Ratia, a school bus hit a Kanwar on the narrow road. The Kanwariyas have claimed that the bus was attacked only after the kids were moved to a safer place". After the intervention of DSP Sanjay Bishnoi, the road was cleared and traffic was restored.

Kanwariyas assaulted the e-rickshaw driver

Recently, in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar, an e-rickshaw driver Mohit was attacked by a group of Kanwariyas and vandalized his e-rickshaw after a minor accident on Thursday. Despite police attempts to intervene, the Kanwariyas persisted in their violent behavior, leaving Kumar injured and in need of hospital treatment. Later he died. A case has been filed, and efforts are underway to identify the perpetrators.
