Haryana Election Results 2024: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has surged ahead in the Haryana Assembly elections, crossing the halfway mark of 45 seats and currently leading in 48 constituencies, while the Congress is trailing behind with a lead on 33 seats. As these latest trends emerged from the Election Commission's website, the Congress has raised concerns over discrepancies in the data being uploaded.

Congress alleges data upload delays

The Congress party has expressed dissatisfaction with the counting process, accusing the Election Commission (EC) of not uploading the latest results in real-time. Congress General Secretary and Communications in-charge, Jairam Ramesh, took to social media to voice his concerns. He tweeted, "Like the Lok Sabha elections, in Haryana we are again witnessing a slowing down of uploading up-to-date trends on the EC website. Is the BJP trying to build pressure on the administration by sharing outdated and misleading trends?"

This statement came after the BJP's tally showed a significant surge, overtaking the Congress in the Haryana Assembly election results, leading to suspicions about the transparency of the data being shared.

Mismatch in data and rounds counted

Congress leader Pawan Khera also pointed out inconsistencies in the number of rounds counted and the information displayed on the Election Commission's platform. "The EC data is lagging behind. They are still showing the fourth or fifth round of counting, while 11 rounds have already been completed. Our General Secretary Communications has tweeted to the EC, asking if they are deliberately delaying the display and upload of data to influence the administration," Khera stated in a conversation with news agency ANI.

Khera highlighted that, unlike the counting process in Jammu and Kashmir, where live updates were provided for every round counted, the data for Haryana seemed to be lagging, causing confusion and raising questions about its accuracy.

BJP leading in key seats

Despite these allegations, the BJP remains in a strong position as the latest trends show the ruling party leading in 48 seats, comfortably past the halfway mark in the 90-seat assembly. The Congress, which had initially shown promise in early trends, now lags behind with leads in 33 seats.
