New Delhi: The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) has revealed its candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections scheduled for October 5. Among the notable names are party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala and his brother Digvijay Singh Chautala. Dushyant will contest from Uchana, while Digvijay will run from Dabwali in Sirsa district.Election battles in key constituenciesDushyant Chautala, who won the Uchana seat in 2019 by defeating BJPs Prem Lata, faces a new challenge as Birender Singhs son, Brijendra Singh, is expected to be the Congress candidate for the same constituency. Singh, formerly an MP from Hisar, will aim to unseat Dushyant in this crucial contest. In Dabwali, the election could see a repeat of the 2019 scenario where BJPs Aditya Devi Lal lost to Congresss Amit Sihag. Both the Congress and BJP might field their previous candidates again, adding to the familial rivalry in the region.JJP and Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) alliance issues a list of 19 candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections.Dushyant Chautala to contest from Uchana, Digvijay Chautala from Dabwali. pic.twitter.com/B48HFZK3aR— ANI (@ANI) September 4, 2024Party dynamics and changesThe JJP had secured 10 seats in the 2019 elections, but the party has since seen a significant number of defections.
