AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Friday strongly criticised the BJP government, saying that as per parliamentary rules, there can be no legislative business until the debate and vote on a no-confidence motion. He accused them of disregarding the constitution and parliamentary laws.According to a press release, Chadha pointed out that historically, whenever an opposition-submitted no-confidence motion was accepted by the speaker, no other legislative business was conducted until the motion was debated and voted upon.Chadha also reiterated that the BJP government is flouting these rules, conducting regular business, and passing bills without addressing the no-confidence motion. He urged the government and the speaker to prioritise the debate and vote on the no-confidence motion before proceeding with other matters in the Lok Sabha.Delegation of INDIA alliance to visit Manipur: Raghav ChadhaFollowing the no-confidence motion move, Raghav Chadha also informed that a delegation of INDIA alliance will visit Manipur to express solidarity with the people of the state and gain a better understanding of the situation on the ground. He questioned why the current Manipur government was not dissolved, and why constitutional measures, such as Article 355 and 356, were not being employed to restore peace and save lives.Would BJP ignore Manipur if it had 80 seats like UP does: Raghav ChadhaFurthermore, he asserted that the BJPs attitude might be influenced by Manipurs relatively small size and only having two Lok Sabha seats. He implied that the governments response might have been different if Manipur were a larger state with more seats, like UP, which has 80 seats.
