Looted magazines and petrol bombs recovered

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said that looted magazines of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) along with petrol bombs from apprehended troublemakers were recovered. It was disclosed that six individuals were involved in the incineration of a vehicle, which belonged to the Mukhani police station. A lookout notice against the main suspects Abdul Malik and his son Abdul Moeed was issued.

Assault on police team

A police team that demolished an unlawfully constructed madrasa in Banbhulpura of Haldwani encountered a violent backlash. Despite prior notices from the Municipal Corporation urging evacuation, locals resisted the enforcement action, resulting in a tumultuous scene.

The confrontation escalated into stone pelting and hurling of petrol bombs, resulting in multiple injuries among law enforcement personnel. District Magistrate Nainital Vandana Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police PN Meena convened a meeting with community stakeholders at the Municipal Corporation Auditorium in Haldwani on Saturday. During the gathering, it was emphasized that the responsibility for ensuring city security rests with the administration and the police.

Municipal property damage

Authorities assert that Abdul Malik led the 'illegal construction' activities on Nazul's land and orchestrated protests. In a notice issued to Malik by the Haldwani Municipal Corporation on Monday, it was stated, "Your supporters instigated violence against police and administrative teams, causing extensive damage, destruction, and looting of municipal property, resulting in government asset loss. These incidents have been duly recorded in the FIR, wherein you are named as an accused."
