New Delhi: In a disturbing incident in Uttarakhand, a young girl narrowly escaped an attempted sexual assault after being chased by a man who indecently exposed himself. The incident occurred on Sunday night when the girl was leaving her house for an errand in the Kotwali area of Haldwani.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Haseeb, a resident of Azadnagar in Banbhulpura and a carpenter by profession, allegedly followed the girl after removing his pants. The terrified girl managed to save herself by quickly entering a nearby house, where she took refuge, narrowly escaping the assault.
The entire ordeal was caught on CCTV cameras installed in the area, which showed the young girl visibly shaken as she fled from the attacker. The footage helped the police in identifying and apprehending Haseeb. He was arrested on Monday from FTI Road, and upon interrogation, police confirmed his involvement in the crime.
