In a tragic turn of events, a 35-year-old singer and storyteller from Gwalior, identified as Dharmendra Jha, took his own life on Friday, allegedly due to mental torture inflicted by his wife. The incident took place in the early hours in the Janak Ganj area of the city, where Jha's body was found hanging from a ceiling fan hook in his room. Before ending his life, Jha recorded a video detailing his grievances, which he sent to his brother.

The Disturbing Video Message

Dharmendra Jha, a resident of Dholi Bua Ka Pul in Janak Ganj, recorded a heartfelt video explaining his dire situation. In the video, he accused his wife, Neha, of being the reason for his decision to commit suicide. He described the emotional and psychological torment he endured, stating, "My father is 85 years old. He is an asthma patient. She never tried to serve him. I still did not say anything. She called my ashram and refused to give me work. I have left my house and am living in a rented house just because of her. I have been sitting idle for 1 month."

Second Marriage Ends in Tragedy

Jha's love marriage to Neha took place a year and a half ago, marking his second attempt at matrimony. Despite his efforts to maintain peace, he faced continuous hardships, which ultimately led him to this fatal decision. The police investigation revealed that Jha sent the video to his brother's mobile at 6:23 a.m., shortly before taking his own life.

A Plea for Justice

In his video message, Dharmendra Jha criticized the perceived leniency of Indian laws towards women, alleging that such laws are often exploited, resulting in injustice for men. He called for stricter punishments and justice, emphasizing that his family should inherit all his belongings. He ended his message with a poignant statement: "Because of both the women, I am committing suicide today. After my death, only my family members will have the right over all my belongings. Radheshyam to all… I am living as much life as Thakur ji gave me."

This tragic incident underscores the severe impact of domestic disputes and the importance of addressing mental health issues in marital relationships. The local authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover all aspects of this heartbreaking case.
