The CCTV clip unmistakably shows the businessman going down the road with a bag slung across his shoulder. Unbeknownst to him, a criminal had been shadowing him. The instant the businessman entered an isolated area, the attacker brought out a pistol, aimed at him, and forcefully stopped him.
Threatened, the businessman first attempted to struggle and cover his bag. But when the offender became more brutal and brandished his gun threateningly, he had no option but to back away. After a brief struggle of a few seconds, the loot was snatched from him and the offender fled.

Official opine that robbery was not spontaneous but a premeditated offence. The way the attacker chased the businessman, waited for the right time, and carried out the offence quite swiftly shows planning. Sources relate that the bag contained about Rs 80 lakh cash, and that was a good amount money to the victim.
Following the robbery, the victim businessman personally approached the Lahori Gate police station and registered a complaint. There was no delay on the part of the police in filing the case and conducting an investigation.
A high-ranking police officer stated, "The instant we got the complaint, we opened a through probe. The CCTV footage is also being screened and efforts are underway to arrest the suspect and track him down. We ensure speedy action to put the criminals behind bars."
The raid has heightened the level of insecurity among the businessmen and traders at the Chandni Chowk business hub. Many of the traders are now seeking enhanced security arrangements and police patrol in a bid to keep similar crimes away from their area in the future.
The authorities also want business operators to handle enormous amounts of money with care and make secure payments where possible. The police are in return following all the leads to ensure speedy arrest of the offender.
