New Delhi: As heavy rains continue to lash parts of Gujarat, a couple found themselves stranded atop their submerged car after being swept away by the swollen Karol River in Sabarkantha district. The couple, Sureshbhai and Nayanaben, remained on the roof of their car for five hours, with water rising dangerously high, flowing near their necks during the initial two hours.

Despite the dangerous situation, Sureshbhai kept his wife calm by making jokes, while positioning himself behind her to shield her from the direct force of the water. The couple avoided contacting family members, choosing instead to notify the police, fire brigade, and local administration.

Calmness during the flood

Their ordeal attracted significant attention on social media after a video of the incident went viral. In the clip, Sureshbhai is seen trying to make calls while Nayanaben sits calmly atop the submerged vehicle. The couple's composure in the face of such peril prompted many online users to comment on their remarkable calmness during the flood.
