Gujarat: 17 Killed in devastating fire at Deesa firecracker factory, several injured

Gujrat: A huge blaze engulfed a firecracker factory on the outskirts of Deesa town in Banaskantha district of Gujarat on Tuesday, police informed. In the accident, 17 people lost their lives miserably and dozens of others were injured seriously. Police added that following the fire, there were some explosions, because of which many areas of the factory collapsed. As per the police, numerous labourers are suspected to be trapped under the rubble.

Five workers were killed on the spot

"Firefighters of Deesa municipality are conducting rescue operations to rescue people trapped in the rubble," said inspector Vijay Chaudhary of Deesa Rural Police Station.
