New Delhi: Kumari Selja, General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, former Union Minister, and Member of Parliament from Sirsa, has launched a scathing attack on the BJP government, accusing it of misleading the public with false promises during its ten-year rule. As the state faces upcoming elections, Selja claims that the BJP is falsely asserting that it has fulfilled all its commitments, while the reality, she says, is that the government has deceived the people with empty declarations and misgovernance.

Selja remarked that both the state and central BJP governments are following a divisive agenda, focused on sowing discord, spreading lies, and exploiting power for personal gain. She highlighted that the BJP rule has been marred by several major scams, yet none of the culprits have been brought to justice. "Investigations are conducted, but the guilty remain untouched," Selja pointed out.

BJP's dilemma

In her statement to the media, Selja criticized the BJP for using religion as a tool to sway voters during elections, and for making hollow promises to the public. She challenged the BJP's claims of accelerating Haryana's development, asserting that the state has instead witnessed regression under their rule. Selja also disputed the government's claim of providing 1.50 lakh government jobs, noting that nearly two lakh positions remain vacant, with the SC and BC backlog still unaddressed.

Selja further criticized the government's failure to fulfill its promise of providing LPG cylinders at ₹500 and its inadequate distribution of 100-yard plots, stating that these initiatives were either partially implemented or never materialized. She emphasized that the Congress party, unlike the BJP, has always delivered on its promises and has maintained control over inflation while caring for the poor. Selja assured that when the Congress returns to power, it will honor all its guarantees and fulfill the people's expectations.
