Forensic team conducting probe
A shocking incident occurred in Jalandhar when a grenade was thrown at the residence of former Punjab minister and national executive member of the BJP, Manoranjan Kalia. The attack took place around 1 am on Tuesday, and fortunately, Kalia escaped unhurt.
An unidentified assailant lobbed the grenade near the gate of Kalia's house. The blast caused significant damage, collapsing a side door near the entrance. CCTV footage revealed that the attacker arrived on an e-rickshaw, threw the grenade, and fled the scene.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Manpreet Singh and forensic examination teams have been called to the scene to investigate. Several BJP leaders have gathered at Kalia's house to express solidarity and concern for his well-being.
Kalia recounted the incident, saying he initially thought the blast was from his generator set. He later realized a grenade had been thrown. He claimed his gunman attempted to alert the police, but no one answered. Kalia then went to the police station in person to report the incident
