Special DGP Punjab Arpit Shukla addressing media.
Punjab News. The Punjab Police have achieved a significant breakthrough in their efforts to make the state safe, as directed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. In a remarkable display of efficiency, the police solved the grenade attack on Manoranjan Kalia's house in Jalandhar within 12 hours. Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with the attack, which has been linked to an ISI-backed terrorist module. Initial investigations suggest that the plot was hatched by ISI agents in Pakistan, with Zeeshan Akhtar, a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, entrusted with executing the conspiracy.
Investigations have revealed a complex web of relationships between key suspects and notorious gangsters. Zeeshan's connections to Shahzad Bhatti, a suspected ISI affiliate, have raised concerns about the extent of terrorist collaboration. Additionally, authorities are exploring potential links between Zeeshan and other high-profile figures, including Harvinder Singh (alias Rinda) of Babur Khalsa International (BKI) and gangster Happy Pasia.
According to Punjab Police Special DGP (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla, the accused utilized an e-rickshaw to carry out the crime. The vehicle has been recovered by the police, and forensic analysis is underway.
The Jalandhar Police Commissioner, Dhanpreet Kaur, stated that a thorough investigation is being conducted to expose the entire terrorist network. Central agencies are collaborating with the Punjab Police in this operation, which has led to the registration of a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The Punjab Police have reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring public safety with a decisive crackdown on terrorist modules. By successfully dismantling these networks, the police demonstrate their unwavering commitment to preventing terror threats and maintaining peace in the state.
