New Delhi: A 93-year-old war hero, Havildar Bhojraj, met a violent end at the hands of his grandson in a shocking incident that has stunned the local community. Bhojraj, who fought valiantly against China in 1962 and Pakistan in 1965, was reportedly beaten to death by his grandson, Pradeep, following a dispute over pension distribution.

Conflict rising

The conflict arose when Bhojraj refused to alter his pension distribution, which had been set up to provide half of his pension to his younger son, Jaiveer, and the remaining half to Pradeep’s first wife. Pradeep, displeased with this arrangement and seeking to redirect his share from his former wife to himself, became enraged when his request was denied.

On Wednesday, Pradeep's frustration boiled over. He reportedly stripped his grandfather of his clothes and attacked him with a stick. Bhojraj was found unconscious and was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The police were immediately alerted, and they have since taken Bhojraj's body into custody for a post-mortem examination.

Following the brutal attack, Pradeep fled the scene and is currently on the run. Authorities are actively searching for him, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the suspect. Police officials have assured that efforts are underway to capture Pradeep and bring him to justice.
