Among the proposed legislations are the establishment of a Central Tribal University in Telangana and the introduction of women's quotas in Jammu and Kashmir and Puducherry Assemblies.

Winter Session Kick-off on December 4

The Winter Session of Parliament is scheduled to commence on December 4, with the government listing 18 Bills for discussion. Noteworthy among them are three criminal justice laws aimed at replacing the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) 1973, and the Indian Evidence Act 1872.

  2. Provisional Collection of Taxes Bill, 2023
  3. Central Goods and Services Tax (Second Amendment) Bill, 2023

  6. National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Second (Amendment) Bill, 2023
  7. Central University (Amendment) Bill, 2023

Focus on Electoral Reforms

Another critical piece of legislation on the government's agenda is The Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Bill, 2023. This Bill proposes reforms in the appointment process, conditions of service, and term of office for the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Calls All-Party Meeting

In preparation for the upcoming session, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi has called for an all-party meeting on December 2.
