Government official dressed in woman's attire found hanging; Here's why

An investigating police officer stated that he was in his two-bedroom apartment with two relatives. They all had dinner plan together on Sunday and went out before returning to the apartment. Preliminary investigation shows that the two relatives were in one room while he was in other.

Crime News: A senior official of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) was found hanging from a ceiling fan in wearing women's attire at his official residence at the Dehradun airport on Monday, as per media reports. He was dressed in a women's maxi (gown), undergarments, bindi, lipstick, and bangles. At the time, his wife, who is a teacher, was in Pithoragarh.

No signs of forced entry and assault: SSP 

According to media report, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udham Singh Nagar, Manjunath TC, stated Relatives and colleagues broke into his bedroom and found him hanging. He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. There were no signs of forced entry, and the room was locked from the inside. The SSP also stated that there were also no signs of physical assault.

Police also said that the victim spent the night with two relatives who slept in another room. The police added that they planned to go somewhere nearby together in the morning. 

Body found hanging from ceiling fan

They planned to visit a nearby mango orchard at 8 AM on Monday.

However, when the AAI official didn't wake up despite several calls, the relatives informed his colleagues. They then broke, open his room door and found him hanging from a dupatta tied to the ceiling fan. We are investigating why he was in women's clothes." he further added. 

Relatives and collegues under scrutiny 

SP (City) Manoj Katyal tol TOI that the two relatives and his colleagues are being questioned. He added, "We have seized his mobile phone to check call details and other data for a cyber forensic investigation. His seniors and colleagues described him as an 'outstanding professional who was never involved in any misconduct.' The cause of his death will be determined after we get the postmortem report. We're keeping all possibilities open..."
