National News: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, the Government of India has taken a big decision on the Attari border. The government has decided that during the retreat ceremony on the attic border, the entrances between India and Pakistan will be closed, that is, the ceremony will be completed without opening the gate. For this reason, Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistani Rangers performed a retreat ceremony without opening the gate at their entrance.

What is retreat ceremony?

The Retreat Ceremony is a military tradition in which Indian and Pakistani soldiers come together and carry out their national flag. This ceremony is held daily on the attic border in the evening and its purpose is to convey the message of peace and harmony between the two countries. But after the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to change this ceremony.

IG of BSF gave information

Dr. Atul Phuljele, IG of BSF Punjab Frontier, said that according to the guidelines sent by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the BSF, the gate of the Attari border entrance has been closed. He said that this decision has been taken in view of the terrorist attack and it will not be opened even during the retreat ceremony.

Impact on tourism

The impact of the Pahalgam terror attack is also visible on the tourism industry. Surinder Singh Gandhi, head of Federation of Hotel and Guest House Association, said that 50 percent of the tourists of the city have been reduced due to the terrorist attack. Ashok Kumar, who runs a shop on the Attari border, also said that the influx of people has reduced since the attack.

Anger in retreat ceremony

On Thursday, during the Retreat Ceremony, the pain and anger of Pahalgam showed both on the face of the soldiers as well as the people. Even though people did not raise slogans against Pakistan according to the protocol, the slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai and Vande Mataram expressed anger.

The crowd decreased on the Attari border

Usually 30 to 35 thousand people arrive daily to see the retreat ceremony on the Attari border, but since the terrorist attack, the number of people has decreased by 15 to 20 percent. Despite this, on Thursday, a large number of people joined the Retreat Ceremony. The Government of India has tried to give a clear message to Pakistan through this decision to stop the activities of promoting terrorism in their country. The government has also clarified that it can go to any extent for the safety of its soldiers and citizens.

what next?

It remains to be seen how Pakistan reacts to this decision and what steps further. The Government of India has made it clear that it is ready to face any challenge for the security and sovereignty of its country.
