In a recent incident that caused a stir on social media, Amisha Aggarwal, a software engineer at Google, suffered a distressing accident while riding a taxi bike. She shared her experience on X, sharing photos of her bruised legs from the fall, and expressed her resolve: "Never taking a Rapido bike again :)". Aggarwal recounted the alarming series of events in her post.

She booked a Rapido bike on Friday night, and the driver, who was speeding and not following traffic rules, suddenly turned into a service lane on Outer Ring Road, Kadubeesanahalli, without giving an indicator. This abrupt maneuver led to a collision with a car that couldn't stop in time. The bike lost balance, causing both the rider and paseenger to fall onto the busy road.

Adding to her distress, the rider, who was at fault, did not offer any assistance. "The rider completed the trip and ran away without taking me to a clinic or hospital," she wrote. It was the car driver who ultimately helped her.

In her post, Aggarwal mentioned that Rapido's customer care suggested she file an insurance claim. She clarified that her criticism was not directed at Rapido specifically but highlighted the reckless driving behavior of many bike riders. "I'd advise everyone to avoid booking two-wheelers if they value their safety," she concluded.

Her post quickly went viral, sparking numerous reactions on X. One user advised always opting for a cab, even for short distances, due to the unpredictable behavior of bikers and auto drivers. They shared personal and known experiences, particularly criticising auto drivers in Bangalore.

Another user expressed hope for Aggarwal's speedy recovery and mentioned the necessity of ensuring the safety and protection of passengers. They questioned if Rapido and its investors, such as Anupam Mittal, were concerned about such issues, underscoring the need for better safety measures on the platform.
