New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Modi government during a rally in Bansgaon, criticizing the Agniveer Yojana. Gandhi claimed that for the first time in India's history, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has effectively reduced army soldiers to laborers.

'Narendra Modi has turned army soldiers into labourers'

In his speech, the former Congress President condemned the Agniveer Yojana, describing it as a scheme by the Modi government rather than a genuine military plan. He stated, "For the first time in India's history, Narendra Modi has turned army soldiers into laborers." Gandhi pointed out that under this scheme, soldiers from poor families are denied pensions, martyr status, and canteen benefits. He emphasized that those who join the army under this scheme will not receive these benefits, even if they attain martyrdom.

Promise to abolish Agniveer Yojana

Gandhi addressed the rally alongside Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav, asserting that the Indian coalition government, if elected, would dismantle the Agniveer Yojana. He emphasized that the scheme disrespects the army, patriots, and soldiers, and assured that the coalition would cancel it.

Continuing his attack on Narendra Modi-led central goverment Rahul Gandhi further said, "After June 4, Good Bye BJP, Good Bye Narendra Modi, Tata! Only 7 more days are left for the fake fakir who cheats the public. INDIA is getting votes - Khatakhat Khatakhat! The country will get freedom from BJP, true good days are about to come for the country - Fatafat Fatafat!"

Commited to protect the Constitution

Rahul Gandhi pledged that the Indian alliance would protect the Constitution with unwavering dedication. He declared, "We will not step back an inch. We will die, we will be cut, but we will not allow the Constitution to be changed." He accused the BJP of planning to abolish reservations for Dalits, backward classes, and tribals, promising that the coalition would increase the reservation limit beyond 50 percent if elected.

BJP dismantling the works of Gandhi, Ambedkar

Gandhi accused the BJP of trying to dismantle the work of Ambedkar, Gandhi, and Nehru. He stated that BJP leaders have openly expressed intentions to abolish the Constitution if they come to power, a notion he firmly rejected.

Criticism of Modi's policies and actions

Referring to Modi's claim of being sent by God, Gandhi argued that Modi's actions favor wealthy industrialists like Adani and Ambani rather than farmers and laborers. He criticized the exclusion of marginalized communities from the Ram Temple inauguration, highlighting the presence of industrialists instead.

Economic vision and promise to youth

Reiterating his promise of economic support, Gandhi assured that the coalition government would provide financial assistance to women and youth. He criticized Modi for creating billionaires while sending money abroad, promising instead to stimulate the domestic economy by putting money in the hands of ordinary citizens. This, he said, would boost local economies and create employment.

Sarcastic remark on unemployment

Taking a jibe at Modi, Gandhi mocked an old statement by the Prime Minister, suggesting that the youth could find employment by extracting gas from drains and making pakodas. He thanked SP and Congress workers for their dedication during the Lok Sabha elections, expressing optimism about the coalition's future.
