Going to hotel with your girlfriend? Beware of THIS trap

New Delhi: If you're planning to book a hotel room, exercise caution. A shocking incident from Hyderabad, Telangana, has come to light that will leave you stunned. A hotel in Shamshabad was found to have hidden cameras installed in every room and toilet. The hotel staff secretly recorded couples' private moments, using these videos and photos to blackmail them for large sums of money.

Long-running extortion scheme uncovered

This illegal activity had been ongoing for some time, with couples often succumbing to the extortion demands out of fear of social disgrace and exposure. However, this time, the hotel staff's luck ran out. The latest victims, a couple who had stayed at the hotel, were recorded without their consent. After they checked out, the hotel staff sent their private videos and photos to their phones, threatening to expose them unless they paid a hefty sum. 

Victims stand up against blackmail

The couple, initially shocked and terrified, tried to negotiate with the hotel staff, urging them to delete the footage. When their pleas were ignored, they confronted the staff, stating that recording them without consent was a criminal act. The hotel manager, however, remained unyielding, threatening to make the videos and photos public if they refused to pay.

Police raid leads to manager's arrest

Refusing to give in to the blackmail, the couple decided to report the crime. They immediately went to the police and lodged a complaint against the hotel manager. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the police conducted a raid on the hotel. Numerous hidden CCTV cameras were discovered in various rooms. The hotel manager, identified as Ganesh from Ongole, was arrested on the spot. The police also recovered several obscene videos from him. The investigation is ongoing, with further legal action expected to follow.
