Jaichandra, a 22-year-old resident of Ragna Chhatarpur village, was reportedly in a relationship with 21-year-old Shalu, who lived in the same neighborhood. However, their love story was not destined for a happily-ever-after ending. When Shalu's family arranged her engagement with someone else, Jaichandra allegedly took a drastic step.

A final meeting, a fatal outcome

On Tuesday, under the pretense of one last meeting before the wedding, Jaichandra called Shalu to his home. Little did Shalu know, this visit would be her last. He then allegedly acted upon his possessive declaration, shooting Shalu dead.
