New Delhi: A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad where a van carrying buffalo meat was intercepted and chased by Hindu Raksha Dal members that led to trigger a dramatic sequence of events. The incident has sparked widespread controversy and debate, drawing attention to religious tensions and vigilantism in the region.
The van carrying buffalo meat was chased by members of the Hindu Raksha Dal, a group known for its advocacy of cow protection. During the high-speed pursuit, the van overturned on the road, resulting in a chaotic scene. The two occupants of the vehicle, identified as Ashraf, the driver, and Aamir, the helper, were subsequently detained by the mob. Despite the presence of police officers at the scene, Ashraf and Aamir were reportedly assaulted by the group.

Following the assault, Ashraf and Aamir were taken into custody and charged. The local police have faced criticism from the Hindu Raksha Dal, with Pallav Chauhan, a member of the group, accusing the authorities of labeling Gau Rakshaks (cow protectors) as "goons." This accusation reflects growing tension between community groups and law enforcement.
The police have stated that the van's overturning was due to overloading, contradicting the claims made by the Gau Rakshaks. The latter argued that the accident occurred as a result of their chase. The differing accounts have fueled further debate about the handling of the situation.
An FIR (First Information Report) has been filed against Ashraf and Aamir based on the police complaint. The case highlights ongoing conflicts surrounding meat transportation and cow protection in the region, underscoring the broader issues of communal tension and the enforcement of local laws.
