German Vice Chancellor to inaugurate business forum; hold bilateral meetings

In his three-day visit to India, Dr Habeck is scheduled to visit three Indian cities – Delhi, Mumbai, and Goa, the German Embassy in India confirmed.

He will also inaugurate the Indo-German Business Forum in New Delhi under the heading ‘Inviting Innovation: Transforming the economy for a shared sustainable future’, which will be hosted by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.

The Vice Chancellor is also expected to hold high-level bilateral meetings with the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, the Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh.

Vice Chancellor Habeck will visit several Indo-German joint ventures in the national capital region during his visit to New Delhi. In Mumbai, he will collaborate with the Government of Maharashtra to visit an NGO supporting sustainable development.

During his last day of the visit, Habeck will participate in the G20 Energy Ministers meeting, which is scheduled to be held in Goa.

Ahead of his India tour, the Vice Chancellor had told German media outlets that India – which is soon expected to be the world’s most populous country – is a key growth market for Germany. He said that Germany is interested in strengthening its strategic ties with India, which would in turn help strengthen and diversify the German economy.
