Mukhtar Ansari, a gangster and former politician, passed away after suffering a sudden heart attack. Ansari, who was imprisoned in Banda jail, Uttar Pradesh, experienced the incident on Thursday night, leading to swift measures to transfer him to a nearby medical college for urgent medical care.

The Uttar Pradesh government has enforced Section 144 in Mau and Ghazipur, with heightened security measures also implemented in Ghaziour, Balia, and Pryagraj, where the gangster had significant influence. Following a deterioration in his health today, Ansari was transferred to Banda Medical College hospital, where he eventually passed away.

Medical bulletin confirms Mukhtar Ansari's death

The medical bulletin released by Rani Durgawati Medical College in Banda affirmed the passing of Mukhtar Ansari, aged 63, a convicted prisoner, who was brought to the emergency department in an unconscious state by jail staff around 8:25 PM.

Despite prompt medical intervention by a team of nine doctors and the provision of all necessary medical care, Ansari succumbed to cardiac arrest.

Previous health concerns

Ansari had previously been admitted to a hospital on March 26 after complaining of abdominal pain, raising allegations from his family of possible poisoning.

Political and criminal background

A five-time former MLA, Ansari had a long-standing involvement in over five dozen criminal cases and had been incarcerated since 2005.

Within the past 18 months, Ansari faced convictions in seven cases, including a life sentence for the murder of Awadhesh Rai and a 10-year imprisonment for his involvement in kidnapping and murder cases.

The Uttar Pradesh government reported seizing or demolishing properties worth over тВ╣600 crores associated with Ansari and his associates, besides reporting encounters resulting in the deaths of five alleged criminals linked to his group.
