After horrific rape and murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata, another a heinous gang rape and brutal murder has been reported from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district that has left the nation outraged. The silence surrounding this horrific crime raises serious questions about media coverage and public awareness.

The incident, which occurred on a Sunday, involved the barbaric assault and murder of a Class 9 student by a 41-year-old man named Sanjay Rai. Despite the severity of the crime, no arrests have been made yet, even though the perpetrators are from the same village as the victim. The delay in apprehending the accused has sparked widespread anger and frustration.
 

Details of the crime are horrifying

The young girl was gang-raped, and after the assault, she was stabbed 50 times in her private parts. Her breasts were also mutilated in a gruesome act of violence. On Monday, her semi-naked body was discovered in a pond, with a cloth tied around her mouth and pieces of flesh scattered nearby, adding to the brutality of the crime scene.

To add to the tragedy, the administration reportedly forced the girl's family to conduct her last rites hastily, denying them the opportunity to seek justice. The parents of the victim have also claimed that Sanjay Rai openly threatened to rape their daughter before carrying out the act, a statement that adds to the gravity of the crime.

Meanwhile, it is important to note that this has come amid ongoing protest by the doctors at Kolkata’s RG Medical College after rape and horrific murder of the junior doctor. The police have arrested one accused in the case and the investigation in the case is on.
