The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the national capital, is likely to have pleasant and cloudy weather ahead of the G20 Summit. The weather forecasting agency has also said that it will issue a special bulletin to give frequent updates from Thursday. Moreover, IMD has also installed an additional automatic weather station in close proximity to the Summit venue to give frequent updates from Thursday.

As per the latest bulletin, Delhi will experience pleasant weather accompanied by strong winds which will also lead to a temperature drop in the next 2-3 days.

IMD’s special weather bulletin for G20

The India Meteorological Department has installed an additional automatic weather station near Pragati Maidan where the G20 Summit will take place this weekend to provide specialised and real-time weather forecasts in view of the high-level event.

In the wake of the Summit, the IMD will be monitoring the weather round the clock. The weather updates and forecast tailored for this Summit will be accessible through a dedicated webpage on the IMD website at mausam.imd.gov.in/g20.

Real-time weather updates will be available in New Delhi

This web page will provide precise and real-time data on air temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, and rainfall. from the newly deployed automatic weather station (AWS) near the G20 Summit venue.

According to the weather agency, the updates will be provided every 15-minute ensuring that users have the most accurate and up-to-date weather information at their fingertips.

Similarly, weather updates for nine other key locations across Delhi will be available. These locations include the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi railway station, Chandni Chowk, Akshardham Temple, Bahai/Lotus Temple, Qutab Minar, Red Fort/Rajghat, Delhi University and Lodhi Road (Lodhi Garden)

The G20 Summit will be held from September 8-10 and will have the participation of more than 30 heads of state and top officials from the European Union and invited guest countries and 14 heads of international organisations.
