Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi who also joined the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) has made a big statement while addressing news conference on Friday. Kejriwal during the addressal said that their party is fully committed to INDIA bloc. The statement from CM Kejriwal came soon after the arrest of Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira in connection with a drug case.

Kejriwal during the addressal also stated that anyone who is dealing in drugs will not be spared.

Notably, Punjab Police arrested Sukhpal Singh Khaira from his Chandigarh residence earlier this morning in connection with an old case registered in 2015 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The Punjab Congress has been severely critical of the chief minister Bhagwant Mann government over the arrest of Khaira alleging political vendetta by the state government.

Here’s what Arvind Kejriwal said:

“AAP is committed to INDIA Alliance. AAP will not separate ways from INDIA Alliance…Yesterday I heard that the Punjab Police arrested a particular leader (Sukhpal Singh Khaira) yesterday in connection with drugs. I don’t have the details, you will have to speak to Punjab Police for the same…But Bhagwant Mann Govt is committed, AAP Govt is committed to end drug menace…In the fight against it, nobody will be spared however big or small they might be,” Kejriwal mentioned during the addressal.

How the arrest of Khaira will affect the relations of AAP and Congress?

It is anticipated that the arrest of Sukhpal Singh Khaira may further dent the relations of AAP and the Congress which have come together to form the INDIA alliance against the Central government. In the meantime, the state unit of the Congress has opposed any tie-up or seat sharing arrangement with the AAP in Punjab.
