Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took to social media to launch a scathing attack on the NDA government while the newly-elected MPs were being administered oath in Parliament. His criticism spanned several key issues plaguing the nation, including the ongoing NEET controversy and the recent Kanchanjunga Express train accident.

Listing down major concerns on Twitter, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the following issues:

  • Kanchanjunga Express accident
  • Terrorist incidents in Kashmir
  • Passenger grievances in train accident
  • NEET scam
  • Cancellation of NEET PG exams
  • UGC NET paper leak
  • Escalating prices of essential commodities like milk, pulses, gas, and tolls
  • Forest fires
  • Water scarcity
  • Deaths attributed to the lack of arrangements during heatwaves.

In his tweet, Rahul Gandhi remarked, "Psychologically on the backfoot, Narendra Modi is busy saving his government. The attack on the Constitution by Narendra Modi and his government is not acceptable to us - and we will not allow this to happen under any circumstances. INDIA's strong opposition will continue its pressure, raise the voice of the people, and not allow the Prime Minister to escape without accountability."

Earlier in the day, during the first sitting of the 18th Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi notably displayed a copy of the Constitution to Prime Minister Modi as the PM walked towards the dais to take oath as an MP.

Responding to PM Modi's media address before the Lok Sabha session, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge criticised the PM's apparent arrogance despite facing moral and political setbacks. Kharge stated, "Even after moral and political defeat, the arrogance remains!"

In another social media post, the Congress president expressed his hope that PM Modi would address critical issues such as the NEET controversy, the recent train accident in West Bengal, violence in Manipur, floods in Assam, the census, and the depreciation of the rupee.
