The recent tragedy involving illicit liquor in Tamil Nadu has resulted in 47 deaths, with more than 100 individuals still receiving medical care, a government official reported on Friday. On Wednesday, over 150 people have sought treatment for symptoms including vomiting, stomach aches, and diarrhea after consuming methanol-laced liquor in Kallakurichi district, approximately 250 kilometers (150 miles) from Chennai.
