In a significant breakthrough, Faridabad police apprehended a woman caught red-handed while extorting INR 50,000 from a victim through blackmail. The accused had previously extracted INR 5,35,000 from the victim and was demanding an additional INR 3,50,000. The police swiftly acted on the complaint, and the court subsequently placed the accused in judicial custody.

The arrest followed a complaint lodged by a man from the Sector-8 police station area. The Crime Branch team from Uncha Gaon moved quickly, capturing the woman near Escort Mujesar station around 8 PM on Friday evening. The woman was accused of blackmailing the complainant and demanding INR 3,50,000 after already extorting more than INR 5,00,000.

The victim, who had been employed at a shoe showroom for the past decade, recounted his ordeal. He explained that his company had previously opened another showroom in Delhi, where the accused woman worked as a cleaning staff member. After the Delhi showroom closed, he returned to his position in Faridabad. In January 2019, he received a call from a woman identifying herself as Abida (name changed), who claimed she had obtained his number from the former cleaning staff. This initiated a series of communications between them.

Threats and Extortion

The victim disclosed that the woman had expressed a desire to meet him, citing urgent matters. He agreed to meet her at Escort Mujesar station in Faridabad. She then persuaded him to accompany her to a hotel under the guise of having a conversation. Once there, she attempted to engage in illicit activities. When he refused, she threatened to create a scene and involve the police. Ignoring his refusal, she extorted INR 5,35,000 from him through various means, continuously demanding more money under the threat of falsely accusing him of rape.

Police Action

Feeling cornered and desperate, the victim sought help from the Police Commissioner. Responding to his complaint, the police launched an investigation and successfully apprehended the accused woman. The swift action by the authorities has brought relief to the victim and underscored the police's commitment to tackling such cases.
