According to witnesses, the boy fell into the manhole the moment he stepped on a poorly secured concrete slab.
Despite the efforts of those who gathered at the scene to pull the boy out of the manhole, their attempts were in vain. Reports indicate that although he was eventually retrieved, he could not be revived.
