The state police are examining allegations of financial irregularities that have cast a shadow over the institutions operations.Special investigation team formedIn response to the ongoing controversy, the West Bengal government has established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the financial discrepancies at the hospital. The SIT, led by Inspector General Pranab Kumar, includes Deputy Inspector General Syed Waquar Raza, CID DIG Soma Mitra Das, and Deputy Commissioner Indira Mukherjee of the Kolkata Police. This team is focused on investigating financial misconduct during Ghoshs tenure, which has been exacerbated by the recent crime.Former principals resignation and CBI questioningSandip Ghosh, who resigned from his position just two days after the tragic incident, has come under intense scrutiny. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has questioned him for nearly 53 hours over the past four days regarding his conduct and actions following the doctors murder.
