Former Maharashtra CM Manohar Joshi died at a Mumbai hospital today at the age of 86. This tragic news comes a day after he was hospitalised following a cardiac arrest. The funeral of former CM of Maharashtra will be held at the Shamshan Bhoomi in Mumbais Dadar today. Manohar Joshi was admitted to the PD Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday. The 86-year-old Shiv Sena veteran was admitted to the same hospital in May last year after suffering a brain haemorrhage. Who was Manohar Joshi He was born in Nandvi in the Raigad district of Maharashtra on December 2, 1937. He completed his education from Mumbai. Manohar Joshi was married to Anagha Manohar Joshi, who died in 2020 at the age of 75. About his political careerManohar Joshis political career started with his involvement in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He was one of the prominent leaders of the Shiv Sena and associated with the party for more than 40 years.Joshi served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1955 to 1999, and Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 2002 to 2004. Manohar Joshi was one of the Indians to be elected to all of the four legislatures. He also served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly during 1990-91.
