Just days after joining the political arena, ex-cricketer Ambati Rayudu has abruptly withdrawn from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh today. The former Indian cricketer announced the surprising decision via social media on Saturday.

In a brief social media post, Rayudu declared his resignation from the YSRCP, offering no immediate explanation for the sudden move. "This is to inform everyone that I have decided to quit the YSRCP Party and stay out of politics for a little while," he wrote, adding that he would reveal his future plans "in due course."

Rayudu, who announced his retirement after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clinched the title in IPL 2023, formally joined the ruling YSRCP last week. The ceremony was held at Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's camp office, where Rayudu was welcomed into the party with fanfare. He joined in the presence of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy and Rajampeta Lok Sabha member P Mithun Reddy.

What next?

The cryptic announcement has left his supporters and the political landscape buzzing with speculation. Rayudu, a well-known figure in Indian cricket, had recently begun actively engaging with the public through various programs. His political aspirations seemed poised to take flight, making his sudden departure all the more unexpected.

While the reasons behind Rayudu's unexpected exit remain shrouded in mystery, the move has undoubtedly injected a dose of drama into Andhra Pradesh's political scene.
