New Delhi: Former Jharkhand Minister Saryu Roy has officially joined the Janata Dal (United), as announced by the partys national working president, Sanjay Kumar Jha, on Sunday. Roy, who is an independent MLA from Jamshedpur East, was welcomed into the party in the presence of senior JD (U) leaders and ministers Shrawan Kumar and Ashok Choudhary, the latter also being the JDs in-charge for Jharkhand.Strategic Move Before ElectionsThis significant political move follows a recent meeting between Roy and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. During their discussion, Roy hinted at a possible alliance with the JD (U) ahead of the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections later this year.
