Fight over ball turns fatal: Delhi school boy dies after dispute over game

New Delhi: A 14-year-old boy, Ishu Gupta, was stabbed to death outside a school in Delhi over a minor fight with a classmate, forcing the police into immediate action, which resulted in the arrest of seven suspects.

New Delhi: Ishu Gupta, 14, was stabbed to death outside Rajkiya Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya in Shakarpur, Delhi, in a tragic aftermath fight with a classmate. The incident took place on 3 January 2025 when the students were exiting the school as they had some extra classes.

Background of the Incident

It happened after Ishu hit the ball that the other boy snatched; it is reported. Later on, Krishna appeared to have taken a mobile from someone, and he called somebody and discussed the incident that happened between both of them. As the dialogue is quoted, he appealed to the cell phone listener, "Send people to Ishu. When the students left the school at around 6 pm, Krishna, along with some of his henchmen, was present outside. Things were deteriorating further when one of the assailants plunged a knife into Ishu's thigh, and he died due to the fatal wound, although he was taken to the hospital very soon.

Rapid Police Response

Police acted with no delay to formalize the specialist teams that were going to be used in solving the crime. The police analyzed the CCTV footage and the statements from the different witnesses, and after all this, the police managed to get hold of seven suspects: five minors and two adults trying to run away from Delhi. Police took away critical proof in the form of tools used for murdering and blood-stained clothing of the attackers.
