A horrifying case of sexual abuse and extortion has come to light in Gwalior, where a private coaching center owner is accused of raping a female teacher on the pretext of marriage. The accused threatened to post her pictures and videos on the internet to blackmail her into further exploitation, it is alleged. The crime was committed in the Hajira police station area at a private coaching institute.

The accused organized a staged wedding when the victim pressed her for marriage. She even posted her pictures and videos on social media. Upset over this deception, the woman went to the police and lodged a complaint. The authorities registered a case and arrested the accused.

How the crime unfolded

Hajira Police Station in-charge Shiv Mangal Singh Sengar disclosed that the 23-year-old woman, who was a teacher by occupation, was offering private coaching lessons. She was working at a coaching center two years ago and got to know the accused Yashraj Bithua there. With the passage of time, their relationship became romantic.

Under the guise of marriage, Bithua formed physical relationships with her. When the victim refused, he forcibly made intimate videos and compromising photographs. Subsequently, when she demanded marriage, he conducted a sham wedding ceremony at a private house but did not give a legal marriage certificate.

Threats and blackmail

When asked to take her to his house as his wife, Bithua threatened to upload her personal photos and videos on the social media. He even told her that he would hurt her brother if she revealed the incident.

Social media defamation and police action

The accused posted their spoofed wedding photos on social media a few days ago, causing widespread humiliation to the victim. She could not bear the shame and lodged a complaint with the police. Based on her complaint, authorities initiated a case, arrested the accused, and produced him before the court, who sent him to judicial custody.

In-charge of Hajira Police Station, Shiv Mangal Singh Sengar, confirmed that the accused was booked under sections of the law related to the offense. Investigation is in process for the justice of the victim.
