Farmers paid homage to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev at the Shambhu border on 'Shaheed Diwas,' a solemn yet resolute tribute on Saturday. This day annually commemorates the death anniversary of the revolutionary freedom fighters, highlighting their immense sacrifice and valour in the struggle for Indian independence.

Wrestler Bajrang Punia joined the homage, emphasised the importance of honouring martyrs, and expressed solidarity with the ongoing farmers' movement. He lamented the challenges faced by farmers and their families, noting the hardships they endure while advocating for their rights.

Punia's remarks also touched on the plight of female wrestlers and their fight for justice, particularly in light of past grievances regarding harassment within the wrestling community. He underscored the determination of farmers from Haryana and Punjab, emphasising their unified demand for a fair minimum support price (MSP) for crops.

The ongoing 'Delhi Chalo' march, led by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Kisan Mukti Morcha, underscores the farmers' steadfastness in pushing for their demands. These demands include legal assurances for MSP, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission's recommendations, pension benefits, electricity tariff stability, and justice for victims of past violence.

The farmers' resolve remains unyielding, encompassing a range of issues crucial to their livelihoods and rights. The tribute to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by these iconic figures and fuels the determination of today's farmers in their ongoing struggle.
