New Delhi: A horrific incident has shaken Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh. A teenage girl, reportedly a Hindu, was allegedly raped, forcibly converted, and then thrown in front of a moving train, leading to her death. The brutality and alleged religious motive have sparked tensions in the area.

Family alleges brutality, forced conversion

The victim, a 15-year-old student who had recently passed her intermediate exams, was reportedly targeted by Fariyaad, the son of a local resident. According to the family's account, Fariyaad had been harassing their daughter and even threatened to harm her brother if she did not convert.

Alleged abduction, rape, murder

On her way to college to fill an improvement exam form, the girl was allegedly abducted by Fariyaad. The family claims he took her to a secluded area, raped her, and then pushed her in front of a moving train, resulting in her death.

Police take action, protests erupt

Following the incident, police registered a case against Fariyaad under charges of murder, rape, POCSO Act violations (protection of children from sexual offenses), and forced religious conversion. The delay in action due to a jurisdictional dispute between police stations reportedly sparked protests from Hindu organizations demanding swift action.
