The incident unfolded around 1:30 pm, prompting immediate response from locals and police equipped with ropes and trekking gear. By nightfall, three bodies had been recovered, with efforts set to resume at daybreak.
The tragic event has raised serious concerns about safety measures at the waterfall and downstream at the Bhusi Dam. Locals speculated that slippery conditions on mossy boulders may have caused the fatal slip into the reservoir.
Disturbing videos also surfaced showing tourists near the dam's edge and food stalls dangerously close to the raging waters, highlighting the absence of adequate safety protocols. Authorities are yet to verify the authenticity of these videos.
