New Delhi: According to sources, The NEET-PG, the exam that is required for admission to postgraduate medical courses, is set to commence this month, creating the question paper around 2 hours before the exam. This decision came to light after a meeting between the Home Ministry and officials from the government's anti-cybercrime body. The question paper for the exam will be prepared just two hours before the test, sources added.

Originally, the exam was supposed to be held on June 23, but the NEET-PG exam was postponed at the last minute due to allegations of irregularities, in which the problem of leaked question papers for the undergraduate exam caused the most stir. The government announced that it would conduct a strong screening and review of the NEET-PG processes, which are overseen by the National Board of Examinations for medical students. As the central government claims, this decision to postpone the exam was made in the best interest of the students, according to the government.

The abrupt cancellation of the exam, for which many aspiring medical professionals had registered, led to widespread protests, especially from those who had traveled long distances to take the test. In response to the outcry, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan formed a high-level committee to investigate the complaints.

The cancellation of the NEET-PG exam came amid public dissatisfaction with the NEET-UG and UGC-NET tests. Allegations of question papers being sold on the darknet were confirmed by Pradhan last month, focusing attention on the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts both exams. As a result, the NTA's chief, SK Singh, was removed from his position. The UGC-NET test, which is conducted for professorial appointments and awarding research fellowships, will now take place from July 25 to July 27.

The NTA has faced major backlash from students, parents, activists, and the opposition. Last week, the NTA's office in Delhi's Okhla area was briefly taken over by members of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress party. In the monsoon session of the parliament, Congress has continuously attacked the BJP, claiming that the cancellation of the exam has "destroyed" the education system.
